Website View:
Through out the creation process, you can click the Save and Continue Edit button in the top-right corner.
Steps:
1. Go to Catalog à Manage Products.
2. Click on the Add Product button.
3.
A) Choose “Default” from the Attribute Set drop-down menu.
B) Choose “Simple Product” from the Product Type drop-down menu.
General
1. Type the name of the Item in the Name section.
2. Fill out a description in the Description section.
3. Fill out instructions (“Product Application”) in the Short Description section.
4. Name the page’s SKU (website link) in the SKU section.
5. Enable the item by selecting “Enabled” from the Status drop-down menu.
6. Set a URL in the URL Key section.
7. Set the visibility to “Catalog, Search” from the Visibility drop-down menu.
Note: Set the visibility to “Not Visible Individually” if the page is not ready to be published on the website.
8. Choose the brand that the product belongs to from the Brand drop-down menu.
Note: The Products can be linked to the Brand from the Brand Page (How to Create a Brand Page – Associated Products) as well.
This Product will then be visible on the Brand Page.
9. Type the ingredients in the product in the Ingredients section.
10. Fill out the weight and/or size of the item in the Weight / Size section.
Note: Be sure to use the metric units associated with your specific country.
Prices
1. Indicate the price of the item in the Price section.
Meta Information
Providing key meta words helps with SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Note that these key words are not visible on the website.
1. Provide a meta title in the Meta Title section.
2. Provide meta key words in the Meta Keywords section.
3. Provide a meta description in the Meta Description section.
Images
1. Search for the preferred image by clicking on the Browse Files… button.
2. Once you have selected the image, click on the Upload Files button.
3. Check the Base Image, Small Image, and Thumbnail boxes.
Assigned Widget Instances
You can add Widgets to your Product Page once it has been created.
Important:
There are 3 Widgets that can be used for Item Pages:
a. Related Product Widget
c. Video Widget
1. Add Related Product, Social Media, and/or Video Widgets you want to appear on the Item Page by searching for the desired widgets and checking their boxes.
Remember: Once you have successfully completed all required fields, click on the Save button in the top-right corner.
